The Montessori Children’s House was Established in 1999, moving into a brand new building in 2017.
The Montessori Nursery is owned and managed by Rachel Shepheard-Walwyn offering a full Montessori education.

The Head/Owner
Rachel trained in Montessori after being sponsored by a central London Independent Boys’ School, to head up their Reception Year using the Montessori philosophy. She set up her first nursery in 1999, when her sons were two and one, so that they had a Montessori start to their “school life”, and then expanded to open Spencer Hill in 2006. She has since sold the first school.
We are the only Wimbledon Montessori that is an Accredited Montessori School
We are one of the only nurseries where the owner is on site every day, making sure the children, parents and staff are all cared for.
We offer a Hybrid week, where the needs of the child are met with a flexible approach to the number of sessions a child can attend.
A very high staff ratio where the staff are all qualified and the majority are parents themselves.
